Goodman vs. Heil?

I will be having my unit replaced next month. It’s a 2 ton package unit. I have received quotes for both Goodman and Heil (15 SEER units).

All things being equal, which is the better brand: Goodman or Heil? The same established company would be installing either one.

For what it’s worth, I live in South Carolina.

Thanks!

I use both brands. Heil is made by Icp and they make like 20 different brands with all same parts basic models. Goodman is ok too . Pretty much you need to focus on warranty. Which is 10 years if YOU register online. Make sure confirmation is received to your email. See how supply house handles warranty. I my area I bring bad part and I get new part free right away without buying and waiting for refund. Other supply houses wants contractor to buy new part then wait 2-3 weeks for refund so he has to wait for his money. Sometimes contractors don’t have money let’s say $900 for compressor so he bugs customer to go with him and pay. Some inconvenience. Most important part is installer then warranty.Good luck

I personally was not a Heil fan, not because of the product line, but some of the things they do make it more complicated. Goodman is a very good mid line unit, been using them for years and have had good luck with them. My favorite brand is Trane, you pay more for it, but the quality is much better. In between the two would be Ducane, which is a Lenox brand with out paying for advertising. Bottom of my list is Carrier.
Good Luck in your choice.
