charging by sight glass with an accumalater question is this: on a r-22 system 4C cold room. water cooled condenser with an accumalator. hot gas by pass or pumpdown system. when you first start up a warm walkin box, besides charging the system by the usual best way superheat and or subcooling. would you add charge until the sight glass is full? I think you should add about 80% of charge if that is known . let the system run down close to opperating temp then finish charging the unit with the sight glass being full.

always charge 80% until hot pull down then adjust the charge according to actual operating condition.
