Governing Bodies Over Trades Regulations...Tighten Up.
Not sure about other states but here in VA the DPOR needs to tighten up on crooked contractors. I won't name the company specifically but they ran around and jacked up a bunch of whole home generators w/o proper permits or installation. To the effect that the news was warning customers that had this particular company install a generator. Point is that the governing body here knows that they shut their door and opened up under a new name. This should not be allowed. If you screw up that bad individuals should be banned from ever forming other companies.

Re: Governing Bodies Over Trades Regulations...Tighten Up.
Here in Texas I wish they would tighten up on non certified hacks installing hvac units. I see it all the time and call in to the tdlr with license plate and address. The state will call me back and either state they could not contact the homeowner or that the homeowner states no new ac work was conducted. Next will be pictures.
