Re: Luck With Google Adwords?
Adwords work great for me.
The main issues to consider - pick a niche (some particular brand to serve, geographical location or region) and related keywords. Choose cheaper keywords. "HVAC professionals, more for less" is no-go because of high competition and high keyword prices. "Bosch Gas Tankless Water Heater service" sounds better. No competition in adwords, low cost keywords. Make a list of similar ads relating different brands and adwords will bring you good customers. Do not forget to mention price per hour - it makes customer to feel safer calling. |

My company offers a pay per call marketing program for HVAC guys. With us, you only pay per call and nothing else!
Let me know if you want to hear more about our program. My email is matthew @ gofoo.net |

Re: Luck With Google Adwords?
The trick with Adwords is YOUR site. Your site is going to determine the click price you pay, it's going to determine the conversion ratio of the traffic you send to it. So, before you start an Adwords campaign, make sure your site is up to snuff to convert the traffic into leads and then into paying customers or clients. Hope that helps!

It might be a better option to optimize your site for local traffic. ex. "plumber in xyz city", it might require a high investment upfront but will probably pay off since the traffic will be free (organic) and no pay per click charges.

Re: Luck With Google Adwords?
So I have learned all the lessons the hard way... You can spend a fortune quick if you do not know what you are doing... Trust me I know... I have been through five different adwords guys before I decided take the time to educate myself so I know if I am being ripped off... Some guys charge you a percentage and some a flat rate... Most of them rely on you not knowing what they are doing... Google has a ton of videos on what to do and basic to advanced info... Take a couple of weeks and soak in all of this info... It is the best thing you can do for your company... Adwords is a great way to get leads but you need to also spend the money on your website and making the content relate to your Adwords campaign... Feel free to shoot me a PM and I can help with any questions or referrals to people who wont take your $$$.

FloridaHVAC is right. One the content of your site needs to be relevant to your ads. Second, make sure the ad is linking to a relevant landing page and not necessarily just your home page. It is very easy to throw money down the drain if you're not monitoring the campaign. There's plenty of resources out there that is informative and valuable. Good luck!

For contractors, Adwords can be very beneficial, if done right.

Re: Luck With Google Adwords?
Some really good books on SEO and Adwords are the Dummies books. THey give you an overview of how to optimize your site and how to partner Adwords with it to get the most bang for your buck. I would definately recommend these two books to give yourself some background. Read the SEO book first.
