Important Question

Hello Everyone I am interested in knowing if anyone knows if there is an age requirement for HVAC&R in the state of Maine. I am currently 15 years old and have been an HVAC&R tech since the age of 13 with my father ( he owns his own Company ) I know the basics like reading gauges changing filters cleaning coils Installing ductless split cooling systems and have run gas piping and have installed a few boilers as well as some tin knocking. I know more than your average beginner, and am not afraid to get cut or brused. And I graduate in two years and was hoping if able to go to school for HVAC&R that by that time I would be licensed by some degree please respond if anyone knows of the Age requirement. Greatly appreciated.

I've been searching over a lot of websites and their are some online HVACR schools that needs 18 years old. But then when I dig much further, it seems that Maine contractors doesn't need license in Maine.

Although a blog post says that the state requires them for an EPA certification.

Good news, no license is required for technicians or contractors in Maine.
Federal law requires anyone handling refrigerants must obtain an EPA Certification.
