Re: Minisplits

I think National Referigeration Corp makes them.

United sells them, just looking for other mechanics input as to how they are. Thanks

Re: Minisplits

Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, Sanyo, Haier, Amana, Friedrich are the big dogs as far as I know. Anything else I would be pretty leery of.

To be honest there probably aren't even that many names in the business several of the names I just mentioned are rebrands of other manufacturers on that list <.<

Re: Minisplits

Unless you can determine that Thermal Zone is a re-brand of one of the major trusted brands, be very cautious. Of course, if you can get a reputable supplier to back it up, then you can breathe a little easier. But the rework is still your dollar if the unit is a lemon. :(

Re: Minisplits

UNITED REFRIGERATION sells them so I think most products sold by United are reputable. They have to stand by them.

Re: Minisplits

Does anybody know if any of the big boys that manufacture the mini splits make a floor mount unit that is compatible with a single zone system. We sell Mitsubishi and they have a floor mounting unit, but it is only able to connect to their multi-zone systems. We are running into people who just want a single low mounting unit on their porch and are unable to offer it to them in a single zone system.

Re: Minisplits

I believe that Mitsubishi offers the best mini splits in the industry. They have been the leaders in that industry for a while and offer some of the best warranties as well. One issue that you run into buying an off brand system will be support and replacement parts. If you choose a popular system, it will be a lot easier to find any replacements parts that you may need in the future.
